What an awesome year!!

Our first Christmas tree!

Josiah's first present!

Resting on Daddy's lap. So much excitement!
Take note of the bow on Josiah's head. He put it there himself.

What a great 2009! We've had a fun and exciting year. So many changes and wonderful events... marriage, new house, Josiah's first steps. We are truly blessed and grateful for our friends and family who support us and celebrate our blessings. As you can see from the video, Josiah was quite excited about Christmas this year. When people ask, "What was Josiah's favorite gift?", I reply, the wrapping paper! ;)

Josiah has had 4, yes 4 haircuts this year. Unbelievable. Mommy got a new haircut too!

And I couldn't resist posting one more video. This one captures Josiah's precious laughter. I could never tire of it. I hope he continues to be the joyful soul that he is.

Until next year....

How time flies!

It's Christmas time, 2009. Josiah is officially a toddler. I truly cannot believe how fast this year has gone and how much Josiah has changed. He's quite the happy child. Still hasn't met a stranger (wasn't remotely scared of Santa), although a little attached to his Momma these days. Always keeping his eyes on me when I'm around. Daddy is having loads of fun teaching him the finer points of basketball, remote control cars, and his way around a tool box. We are having LOTS of fun and counting our blessings for a healthy and fun 2009. We are looking forward to what the year ahead has in store for our family. Enjoy the studio pictures and videos. Happy Holidays!!

Watching Josiah learn how to walk has been the best entertainment ever! We are so proud. It's so great to see him developing into a toddler. Let the fun begin...

Josiah has become quite the basketball enthusiast. He's quite obsessed with making baskets in his cool, new basketball hoop. Check it out...

How could we forget Halloween! Josiah made an awesome Frankenstein. We had loads of fun and Josiah enjoyed his first taste of candy. Mmmmmm!

He even went to a Halloween party and did the Monster Mash.

And I can't resist sharing his one year photos taken at JCPenny's. They actually did a pretty good job! He's getting so big! My little man. :)

Wow... check out that tan!

So you're probably wondering... Did Josiah have a good time on vacation? Well, pictures are worth a thousand words. You decide!

But as you can see, he was ready to come home...

It's been WAY too long! SO big!

p
Where do I begin? Josiah has grown so much. He is sitting up independently, he is eating finger food, pulling himself to standing and he has his first tooth! I will miss that gummy smile. He is also saying "dada" constantly. No "mama" yet, but we're working on it.

We are also leaving for our very first vacation on Wednesday. This includes Josiah's very first plane ride. Wow... I didn't ride a plane until I was 14. He's one lucky boy. We are traveling to the U.S.V.I. where he will get to meet his Aunt Suzie, and other wonderful people anxiously awaiting to see him in person. We are going to have so much fun hanging out at the beach and swimming in the ocean. I will be sure to post lots of pictures when we return.

Bon voyage!

Spring is here!

Hi everyone! Although it was a bit chilly yesterday, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day! So beautiful, that we decided to go to the park. On the way there, we saw our friends Julie and Gabrielle. Josiah had his first official park play date. And boy, was it fun! As you can see by the video, the swing was a big hit. I also took him down the slide, but he wasn't too impressed. Mostly, I think he was just enjoying the outdoors. We are planning a field trip to Rowe Woods very soon. Josiah was there as a newborn, but I'm sure it will be a brand new experience for him. We even have a big boy back pack so he can ride on Mommy's back. Stay tuned for more Spring adventure!!

Oh yeah.... Josiah also had his first St. Patrick's Day. Everyone gets to be Irish for one day, right?

Kitty lickin' Good

Zoe was caught in the action... finally. John and I had suspected for a long time that she was secretly cleaning Josiah. The wet head was always a dead give away. As you can see, Zoe was all too focused on her obsessive licking, that she hardly noticed the audience. Who can blame her... he does have such thick hair! It was just too funny not to share.

More peas, please!

Drum roll please.... Ta da! Josiah gets his first vegetable. After his 4 month check-up, we got the okay to try some baby foods. It was suggested that we try green veggies first. I would call it a success, but it was kind of hard to read Josiah's reaction. You can help decide. Next comes sweet potatoes and applesauce. Yum!

John seems to have this knack for finding very creative ways to entertain Josiah. One of them is letting him watch the Noggin channel upside-down. He seems highly amused.... Josiah I mean. What will he think of next?

More giggles!

Josiah meets Teddy the Bear. This is not just any teddy bear. This is the Miller bear that has been passed down through all of my siblings and my niece. Now he has been handed to Josiah. As you can see, he is greatly amused and taken by Teddy. I believe they are going to be the best of friends.

Josiah had his 4 month check-up today. He is 27 inches long and weighs 14 pounds. He's right on track. As you can see, he is now eating cereal and I just received the okay on baby food. Green beans, here we come! The awesome benefit of his growth is that he now sleeps through the night. Hooray! Mommy could not be more pleased.

Josiah is also learning all about computers from John. It's never too early, right? John even has a laptop just his size. He'll be a pro in no time, especially if John has anything to do with it. Although he did manage to drool on the sofa. Maybe he's not quite there yet. :)

How can Josiah go wrong with all these wonderful women surrounding him. These are his lovely aunts (Desiree and Dawn) and his Gammy. They could not be more proud. His cousin, Danielle, is in Spain, but will be home this Summer. Josiah is not spoiled one bit! Yeah, right. He is already such a flirt. He smiles and coos at anyone who will pay him attention. He's going to be quite the heart-breaker. (Except when it comes to his mother, of course.) ;)

Stay tuned for more....

I finally caught Josiah's giggles on camera. The trick was to put the camera to the side. Whenever I face it directly to him, he becomes mesmerized and won't laugh. I'm so happy to have captured his sweet laugh, at last. Although I kind of wish I would've brushed his hair. Please excuse his wild morning do. :)

Let the learning begin...

n
Over the course of a week, Josiah has suddenly undergone several changes. First of all, he now knows where his hands are in time and space... therefore grasping objects and holding onto them. The first place they go is straight in his mouth. Big surprise. The blocks in these pictures are his absolute favorite. He also began eating cereal. He eats from a spoon like a champ! Josiah is quite the observer and my pediatrician confirmed that he is indeed a genius. Well... okay... maybe she didn't say exactly that, but she did say he is very alert for his age. I remain in awe at the rate that babies learn and what a great gift it is to see my precious son develop his mind.

Sunshine and smiles

I took this video one morning as Josiah was just waking up. He is a very content and happy baby, especially in the mornings. I love how he discovers I am there and then gives me a big grin. It is by far, my favorite part of the day. Part of me wants him to stay this little forever, and another part can't wait to see him grow. One thing is for sure... I will treasure every minute of it.

Baptism video finally!

I'm a little behind, as Josiah was baptized on December 28, 2008. It was a beautiful sacrament performed at St. Bernadette by Father Bill. Josiah was so handsome and behaved for most of the ceremony. It was a private baptism in the small church, soon to be replaced by a new building. John is the godfather and Jill the godmother. I am confident they will set a strong example of compassion and love. I was very impressed with Father Bill and his thoughtful words of wisdom. It was a day to remember and one that will chart a course of spirituality for Josiah.
